Arthur Y. Whang represents clients in all facets of employment law, litigation, and advice and counseling. Arthur has represented clients of all sizes, from individuals to Fortune 100 companies to start-ups, and has successfully litigated numerous employment law cases in front of California’s courts and agencies in a wide range of disputes involving wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, breach of contract, retaliation, leave law, trade secrets, and wage and hour issues.

Arthur also provides individuals (including many “C-level” executives – CEOs, CFOs, COOs, of private and public companies) and companies of all sizes with expert advice and counseling. Arthur reviews and drafts employee handbooks, employment contracts, independent contractor agreements, separation agreements, severance packages, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.

Arthur also provides sexual harassment and other employee and executive trainings to numerous employers in the communications, pharmaceutical, apparel, and banking industries, among others.

Prior to founding Whang Law Firm, P.C., Arthur practiced employment law and complex commercial litigation for elite, national law firms.

Arthur is also a certified criminal trial lawyer, and has first-chaired several jury trials to successful verdicts (including felonies) in Los Angeles County. He has also been quoted as an employment law expert in news articles on Fox.com, USATODAY.com, and ESPN.com.

Arthur is honored to have been selected to the 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 lists of Southern California Super Lawyers, which is a distinction reserved for only 5% of practicing lawyers in Southern California. And in 2018, Arthur was named as a Top 100 National Advocate for employment law. This is an honor reserved for only 100 lawyers in each practice area, throughout California. Arthur also has a “Superb” peer review rating through Avvo. 

Arthur received his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of California, Santa Barbara and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was Executive Director of the Barristers’ Council, Georgetown’s appellate and trial advocacy governing body. He also served as a non-commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. In his spare time, Arthur enjoys traveling, hiking, playing tennis and golf, and cheering on the Los Angeles Chargers and LA Dodgers and Kings.
